And so, the new year commences. May it be a good one for all of our members, friends & directors.
Congratulations once again to the 2016 prize winners. For full details of these successes, please see attached.

Bridge is on tomorrow as usual. Our apologies for any confusion.

Sessions will run as normal in the week leading up to Christmas. In the week between Christmas & New Year there will be bridge on Monday & Wednesday, but no other days. All sessions will resume as normal from the beginning of the New Year.

Congratulations to ROSEMARY MILLAR & TONI ALEXANDER for winning the Club Pairs Championship.
Congratulations also to the runners up who were:
2nd - Philip Moroney & Jan Durham
3rd - Mary Atkinson & Peter Campbell.

Apologies to everyone who was affected by today's events.
As this was to have been the final week of the Club Pairs Championship, that will now be postponed to next Wednesday, 14 December. Given that some players might not be available next week, a more lenient interpretation of the substitution rules will be adopted. Also, all players who were present today are now entitled to a free game.

Congratulations once again to Peter Gill, who has been promoted to Emerald Grand Master. With over 10,000 masterpoints, Peter is one of only a handful of emerald grand masters in Australia!

Congratulations to Barbara Shepherd for winning the John Fisher Award. This award is given to the HHBC member who, as a State master or below, wins the most number of green points at the Club during the course of the year. Well done Barbara.

Also, congratulations to our very clever director, Peter Gill & teacher, David Beauchamp, who recently won the Australian open teams playoffs for 2017. This is a huge achievement for the team which comprised Peter Hollands, Justin Howard, Matthew Thompson along with Peter & David.

The Club's annual Christmas party will be held on Monday, 12 December commencing at 3.45pm. The bridge session that day will begin at 12.30pm & there will be no lunch break.
This year, the party will be fully catered & will include a two course meal. If you wish to attend, it is essential that you notify the Club before 3.30pm on Wednesday, 7 December by either placing your name on the Club's noticeboard, forwarding your acceptance by email to, or advising Bob Ternes on 0419488701.
As we are required to give the caterers our final numbers on 7 December, the Club will be unable to accept late bookings.
