Vale Emer Noone

It is with great sadness that I reflect on the passing of my friend and long standing bridge partner Emer Noone.

Emer passed away peacefully on 14th November with her family by her side. She had been bravely fighting cancer for the past 6 months and now has found her peaceful rest.

We became bridge partners some 30 years ago after a conversation between our football playing husbands discussing their wives love of bridge and their both needing a new partner.

When I moved to Woolwich we commenced with the club in the days that it ran sessions at the sailing club and have been regular Monday partners ever since. We both have 3 children of similar ages and a lot of our talks between hands were filled with updates as they went through primary, high school, university and finally flying the coup!!

Emer loved bridge and was a great partner- we never exchanged a harsh word about missed finesses, dubious leads or over bidding ,just calm discussions about what went wrong.

She was a loving mother, a dedicated nurse and a good and kind friend. I will miss her.

May she Rest in Peace
