Hunters Hill Bridge Club is again running a programme of six beginner lessons commencing Tuesday June 4, and finishing Tuesday July 9. One of the Club's experienced players, and an Australian Bridge Federation accredited bridge teacher, will deliver the course. Hunters Hill Bridge Club and Sydney Bridge Centre have combined forces to host a new Saturday afternoon bridge session at the Henley Community Centre. In announcing the new session, HHBC President Kathie de Palo said this initiative will be valued by members from both Clubs as well as guests and it shows the role clubs like ours play in providing activities and supporting the local community.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of Club members on Monday, Carol Sheldrake was awarded Life Membership of HHBC. Carol was nominated by Club President, Kathie de Palo, and the honour recognises Carol's commitment to the Club over many years. Carol was a Committee member for thirteen years, serving as Masterpoint Secretary, Tournament Secretary, Vice-President, and most recently as President: 2020-2023, steering the Club through COVID and leading negotiatiions with Council for the Club's new licence agreement.

Congratulations to Brian Jacobson and Charles Fisher, winners of the Hunters Hill Club Pairs Championship, recently played over three weeks. Runners-up were Margaret Gidley-Baird and Henry Chu, Parveen and Jamal Rayani and Gwen Macree and Barbara Shepherd. Overall, it was a close finish: congratulations to all!!!!!
